Nike + Shorts= Norts

As far as the “TFM” stereotype is concerned, they should be a staple in every girls wardrobe (preferably in a myriad of colors) as soon as the weather reaches the 50’s. You don’t even have to wear them with tennis shoes (unless you want people to really think you went to the gym and your hair STILL looks that good…). Rainbows and yes, unfortunately, Uggs are also common footwear options with these beauties.

Although this trend originated in the more southern sororities, it’s clearly made it’s way to our campus and as the weather gets warmer (minus the snow today?) there’s no sign of it going away any time soon. I’ve seen a few girls wear leggings under them but that’s one band wagon I don’t plan on joining any time soon.

They aren’t cheap ( the more shallow biddies* see them as a “status quo” of some sort) at $30 a pop but they do elongate your legs because of the nice curves on the side and bonus- I always feel like I’m tanner when I’m wearing mine.

But like most trends…I give it a few years until people start to think it’s ridiculous to wear flats, running shorts, and a frocket*. Until then…I really like the seafoam green ones…

biddy- all encompassing : A girl who is up on fashion and sometimes low on class.  — don’t be offended… the word can also be used as a term of endearment in the right context (“What’s up, biddy?”)

frocket: a fraternity’s  pocket tee or any other pocket tee that a fraternity brother might be seen wearing… e.g. southern marsh, vineyard vines, or polo
